Zee Café, the 24-hour English general entertainment channel, will unveil four new shows in April – ‘Candid Camera’, ‘Oz’, ‘The Gig’ (a musical concert), and ‘View from the Top’.
Announcing the launch, Neil Chakravarti, Business Head, Zee Café, said, “Our endeavour is to showcase the best of English entertainment. We are now adding four new shows in April to our existing line-up of award winning programmes. We are positive our viewers will find them as appealing as the earlier shows.”
Chakravarti added, “Shows like ‘Candid Camera’, ‘Oz’, ‘The Gig’, and ‘View from the Top’, are targeted at a wider audience. We have extended our programming to provide a mixed bag in order to cater to varied tastes of the ever-growing English audience.”
Starting April 1, daily at 7 pm, ‘Candid Camera’ is a reality comedy show that captures people and situations when they are least expecting it.
‘Oz’ starts on April 7 every Friday at 10 pm. It is a raw and real life take on the inside of a prison. ‘Oz’ is a series chronicling the daily activities of an unusual prison facility and its criminal inhabitants. The wheelchair-bound narrator Augustus Hill will take viewers through the wild world of Emerald City, the experimental unit started by Tim McManus.
Starting April 8, viewers can catch ‘The Gig’ every Saturday at 2:30 pm. A treat for music lovers, it will showcase outstanding concert performances from different corners of the world by some of the most renowned artists. Zee Café has lined up a series of 13 concerts, including the likes of Shakira, Usher, Destiny's Child, Pink Floyd, Santana, and Maroon 5, among others.
Viewers can know how high-profile public figures live their life in ‘View from the Top’ that starts from April 23 every Sunday at 6 pm. This show is another Indian production profiling the lifestyles of the rich, the famous and the achievers.
