Zee and Life OK switch positions from TAM’s previous week to BARC’s current week

BARC rolled out its first round of weekly ratings data yesterday and there have been few changes in the pecking order in Hindi GECs.  BARC’s data for the period of April 18 – 24, 2015 (sourced from BARC subscribers) shows some interesting  changes when compared to TAM data between April 12 and April 18, 2015 ).

The biggest difference in the ratings from TAM data of last week to the BARC ratings of the current week is the change in the ranking of Zee TV and Life OK. Life OK which was in No.4 spot in earlier week’s data of TAM with 135 GRPs saw a jump in its ratings and its positioning to No.3 in the latest week data rolled out by BARC with ratings of 363 GRPS. Zee TV which was No.3 in the previous week data of TAM with 176 GRPs in the data released by BARC saw its ratings at 308 GRPs.

Other channels at the top of the Hindi GEC table did not see a shift in their ranking. Star Plus still stays on top with 490 GRPs according to BARC which was 254 GRPs in previous week’s data by TAM. Colors came in No.2 spot with 438 GRPs in BARC’s latest data in comparison to 189 GRPs in earlier week’s  data of TAM.

Sab TV’s BARC ratings for this week stand at 259 GRPs,  while in previous week’s data of TAM it stood at 127 GRPs. Sony TV was at No.6 with 234 GRPs according to BARC data in comparison with TAM data of the previous week in which it scored 108 GRPs.

&TV was next with 107 GRPs in BARC data, while according to TAM data last week it was 46 GRPs. It was followed by Zee Anmol with 59 GRPs (BARC) in comparison with 44 GRPs. Star Utsav scored 47 GRPs (BARC), while TAM data has 44 GRPs.

At the end there was a change seen in the rankings with Sony Pal and Rishtey. Rishtey was above Sony Pal in last week’s data of TAM and scored 24 GRPs over Sony Pal’s 22 GRPs. Sony Pal on the other hand in the latest BARC ratings saw it take the higher position with 40 GRPs (BARC), while Rishtey had 37 GRPs.
