Zee’s Sa Re Ga Ma Challenge goes global in new season

Zee TV is all geared for a new season of ‘Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Challenge 2007’. This time, the musical talent hunt moves on to a global level across the US, the UK, the UAE, South Africa and Pakistan. The show has a tagline ‘Sangeet ka Pratham Vishwa-Yudh’. The show will go on air from May 4 and will be telecast on Fridays and Saturdays in the 10 pm slot.

The new season of the show will have five juries on panel that include musicians Himesh Reshammiya, Ismail Darbar, Bappi Lahiri, and the duo of Vishal-Shekhar.

Speaking on the launch, Punit Goenka, Business Head, Zee TV, said, “After having established properties like ‘Challenge 2005’ and ‘Li’l Champs’, it was time to raise the bar. I firmly believe that music binds the world, and moves across borders. The participants are a prime example of talent not being hampered by geographical borders, of talent not having a religion. The series promises to enthral the audiences with its unique format.”

On the marketing front, Zee TV plans to take the show across networks. Tarun Mehra, Marketing Head, Zee TV, said, “We have alliance in the radio and digital media, with Big FM and respectively. Our music channel Zee Music will air behind-the-scenes actions on the days of the show at 11 pm.” Mehra informed that as part of the outdoor activities, hoardings would be put up across cities, but will gradually take the 360-degree route.

The host for this season is singer Udit Narayan’s son Aditya, and Gyan Shahai will produce the show.
