In continuing with our series of reports on what different TV channels have on offer as part of their year-end programmes, we feature kids and music channels this time.
Channel [v] is planning a party for New Year on December 31. The channel is also planning to have a special show on some of the best Indian videos, which will be aired throughout the day on the channel till January 1, 2007.
Celebrations at MTV began on Christmas day. The burst of celebrations will take place on December 30 when songs related to the New Year will be played. On New Year’s eve, the channel will air the MTV Hero Honda Roadies 4 with back-to-back episodes starting
from the morning.
‘Best of MTV’ will be aired on January 1, 2007, which will include ‘Fully Faltoo’, ‘Bakra’, ‘One Tight Slap’ and many more of the channel’s popular shows.
Zee Music will host ‘Nina at 9’, a quick rewind of 2006 on the channel.
Vh1, MTV’s music channel will honour winners in various categories like music, news, politics, arts and gossip with the ‘Vh1 Big in ‘06 Awards’. In addition, the channel has also lined up 10 special ‘Big in 06’ countdowns, which include the 10 biggest rock acts, hip hop acts, newcomers, craziest videos, songs, dance, love songs, animated videos, comeback artists, and other big artists.

As for the little ones, they too get their share of the best of 2006.
POGO’s celebrations began a month back and the party still continues as it coincides with its third birthday. The channel will air episodes of its original production of ‘M.A.D.’ (music, art and dance) and all new episodes of ‘Takeshi’s Castle’ voiced by Jaaved Jaffery. Premiers of new films will also continue on weekends. January 1 will see triple episodes of ‘Noddy’, ‘Oswald’, ‘Bugs’, ‘Daffy’, ‘Mr Bean’, ‘Rob’ and Jaaved from morning to evening.
The conclusion of the Nick Masti-Dosti Contest (which ends on December 29, 2006) will be played out on air across three days – December 30, 31 and January 1, 2007. The three shows of ‘Ninja Hattori’, ‘Munnabhai’ and ‘Spongebob Squarepants’ will feature on the channel in a three day-long marathon this weekend as a New Year treat.
