In accordance with the digitalisation regulation by the Government starting with the four metros, DDB Foundation has recently introduced the digital entertainment platform ‘Direct Digital Broadcast’ (DDB).

DDB will help receive digital signals without the need of any set top box, providing a clear and bright HD viewing experience.

“One significant fact we realised is that with each passing day, the world is becoming more and more digitised and you are bound to be left behind if you are not digitally ready. We are driven by this need to make digitisation a reality and make it accessible to millions of Indians,” said a DDB Foundation spokesperson.

The digital technology platform has been pioneered by ‘STMicroelectronics’, ‘Irdeto’, ‘Nivio’, ‘Faroudja’, ‘Strata’ and is presented by ‘Videocon d2h’ and ‘Phillips’.

The DDB platform boasts of features such as dual core processor – 450 Mhz to give uninterrupted motion pictures, a 14-bit video processor with four trillion enhanced colour shades and depths, Faroudja audio-Video optimised which has a 14-bit colour processor and gives a trillion display colours for real-life picture experience and eliminates any distortion caused by noise signal, Motion Enhancement and Motion Correction (MEMC) which interpolates and constructs the ‘in between’ frames to eliminate issues related to both motion judder and motion blur, Strata Certified Audio, 10-band Graphic Equalizer and HDMI – CEC ¬¬ for HD set top Box, Blue ray player, game consoles, etc.

The DDB technology platform also contains various features such as cloud computing abilities that help one work and save files on it, a 3D viewing technology and also allows browsing of websites such as Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, etc.

The DDB Research Foundation announced Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra as the Brand Ambassador for the DDB technology Platform across the Indian Subcontinent.

The spokesperson said that the association with big global names would help reach the depths of technology that has never been explored before and will open the door to an amazing world of possibilities.
