WAN-IFRA to release ‘World Press Trends’ report during ‘Publish Asia’ Conference

WAN-IFRA, the world association of newspaper and news publishers, is organising its second IFRA Expo India 2009 at the Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai. The Expo, touted as the second largest expo in the world for the newspaper publishing industry, will be held from September 23-25.

On the occasion of the inaugural ceremony of the conference on September 23, the WAN-IFRA’s annual report, titted ‘World Press Trends’, with the split edition of Asian trends will be officially released. The report profiles newspapers in Asian countries, reader demographics and readership patterns. This report is a one of its kind information on the newspaper publishing industry and much looked forward to by the entire media industry. The report will also be available in a digital edition covering the complete worldwide trends.

Meanwhile, an interesting list of speakers from India and abroad, totaling more than 50, will share their knowledge and experience at various presentations during the conference. The keynote speaker of the conference is Reiner Mittelbach, CEO, WAN-IFRA, while other speakers include Juan Senor, Partner of Innovation Media Consulting, UK; Sam Balsara, Chairman & MD of Madison World, India; Rajiv Verma, CEO, Hindustan Times, India; Javier Uriquizi, Marketing Director, ABC Newspapers, Spain; Ranjeet Kate, Director of The Times of India; Murugavel Janakiraman, CEO, Bharatmatrimony.com, India; Bharat Kapadia, Board Director of Lokmat Group, India; and Henrik Palsson, Founder of Ericsson Consumer Lab, Sweden.

Already, more than 500 conference delegates from newspapers in India, South Asia, South East Asia and Europe have confirmed their participation, thus making Publish Asia/ IFRA Expo India 2009 a truly pan-Asian event, according to an IFRA India spokesperson. The Expo is expected to attract about 2,000 visitors.
