Vijay TV to launch new reality show ‘Isai Kudumbam’ from February 24

Vijay TV is all set to launch yet another high-energy music show called ‘Isai Kudumbam’ (Music Family), where members of two families would compete with each other. Each family would comprise three members – a playback singer and one each from Vijay TV properties ‘Super Singer Senior’ and ‘Super Singer Junior’. The new show, which would have 13 episodes, would premiere on February 24 and would be aired every Sunday at 10 am.

The competition would include rounds like ‘My Songs’, ‘Comedy Round’, ‘Junior Durbar’, ‘Theme Thanana’, and ‘Adaludan Paadalai Kaettu’. The family that has the maximum entertainment quotient would move on to the next round.

Popular singers like Devan, Vinaya, Sangeetha, Sathyan, Ujjaini, Benny, Reshmi, Mukesh, Preethi, Krish, Roshini, Rahul, Prasanna, Krish, and Mohammed Aslam would be the captains of their respective families. The judges panel includes music directors Vijay Antony, Rehana and film director Saravanna Subbiah. Well-known playback singer Yugendran and his wife Hemamalini would host the show.

Speaking on the new show, K Sriram, Head, Vijay TV, said, “The market has not seen a show of this genre so far though there have been lots of music shows in the past. We have divided the show into seven segments and points would be given to each family based on their performance in each of these segments.”

‘Isai Kudumbam’ will go through a knockout stage, followed by final four, and the winner would be chose from among the four finalists.

“If ‘Isai Kudumbam’ takes off well, we are planning to bring in real family members into the show. So, what starts with celebrities will percolate to the next level, which involves the common people,” Sriram further said.
