Vijay TV to launch ‘Jodi No 1 – Challenge’ on January 5

Following the success of ‘Garnier Fructis Jodi No 1’, Vijay TV is all set to launch another reality dance show from January 5. The new show, christened ‘Garnier Fructis Jodi No 1 – Challenge’, would provide one more opportunity to the eliminated reel life couples Bharat Kalyan-Shilpa, Rishi-Pooja and Deepak-Tharika to prove their mettle. This time the contestants would dance with a partner of their choice.

Meanwhile, ‘Garnier Fructis Jodi No 1’, the original celebrity dance show, will draw to a close on December 30. The grand finale will reveal the Jodi No 1 who will take home the first prize of Rs 10 lakh. In order to build up excitement around the show, Vijay TV will be airing a special performance of Yogi B and the Natchathira Boys, a Tamil hip-hop band from Malaysia, on the occasion. Also in store is a dance performance by the cast of the most popular teen-soap ‘Kanaa Kaanum Kaalangal’.

The three finalists are VijayAdhiraj-Rashana, Raghav-Preetha and Prem-Pooja. The viewers were given the power to judge their favourite couple by voting for them across various platforms such as IVR, SMS, tele-voting and online.

In Week 50 ‘Garnier Fructis Jodi No 1’ continued to captivate the audiences by garnering channel shares of 24.8 per cent as vis-à-vis the competition, Jaya TV (1.4 per cent) and Raj TV (1.3 per cent) amongst the female audiences (Source: TAM; Saturdays 8.00 pm-9.25 pm; CS ABC 15+F; Chennai).

The show has also received a great response in Tamil Nadu with 22.2 per cent channel share while Jaya TV had 2.3 per cent share, and Raj TV had 0.8 per cent share (Source: TAM; Saturdays 8 pm-9.25 pm; CS ABC 15+F; Tamil Nadu). ‘Garnier Fructis Jodi No 1’ recorded its highest TVR of 15.85 in Week 46 (Source: TAM; Saturdays 8 pm-9.25 pm; Chennai; CS ABC 15+F).
