“Kanmani” hopes to retain the popularity of Kavyanjali in this particular time slot. The new soap is a tale surrounding family values, bonding, love and other emotions characteristic of soaps. It is a drama set in the center of an upper class joint family, revolving around the trials and tribulations of the family as seen through the lead character Kanmani.

She features in the serial as the eldest daughter-in-law, who is calm, composed, loving and strong. However her life is shattered when her loving husband dies unexpectedly leaving her pregnant. Contrary to her wishes she is forced into marrying her husband’s brother. The manner in which she deals with this unexpected twist in the tale and the ensuing drama forms the central plot of this soap.
