Viaccess strengthens presence in India; appoints MCCS’ Anoop Varma as India Regional Manager

Anoop Varma has been appointed India Regional Manager for Viaccess, a European company that delivers solutions for digital pay television and secured content distribution. It is successfully deployed in 30 countries worldwide, on more than 80 digital platforms including multi-channel providers and digital content distributors.

Prior to joining Viaccess, Varma was Vice President at MCCS Group, and handled distribution and regulatory affairs for the channels that the Group broadcasts – Star News, Star Ananda and Star Majha.

According to François Moreau de Saint Martin, CEO, Viaccess, “Our solutions for pay TV and content protection expertise are appreciated and used in many countries from Europe to Asia. Viaccess has now established a local presence in India to come closer to our clients, prospects and partners here. There is no doubt that Anoop, with his wide experience of India broadcasting, will ensure the satisfaction and success of our Indian customers.”

Varma has 12 years of rich experience in the broadcast space. He started his career with Star TV in the distribution and marketing division, and later joined TV Today as Senior Manager for Aaj Tak.

Viaccess’ expertise and its wide range of products, like conditional access (CA) and digital rights management (DRM)-based systems for all types of contents and services, for every kind of broadcast – satellite, cable, terrestrial, multi-channel multipoint distribution system (MMDS) – and broadband networks, fixed and mobile, have been welcomed by Indian operators.
