SET India’s bouquet of channels distributed by TheOne Alliance, a joint venture of SET India and Discovery Communications India, has recently added Vh1 to its bouquet of channels. Vh1 is India’s only international music and lifestyle channel, providing music buffs with a staple diet of international music, music icons and celebrity lifestyles.
The other channels as part of TheOne Alliance include Sony Entertainment Television, MAX, SAB, PIX, AXN, Animax, Discovery, Discovery Travel & Living, MTV, Animal Planet, NDTV 24X7, NDTV India, NDTV Profit, NICK and Ten Sports.
Talking of the transition, Sanjeev Hiremath, Senior Vice President-Network Development, South Asia, MTV Networks, said, “Over the last two years, Vh1 was available on the Zee-Turner platform, and has a viewership across 20 million households in India. Vh1 is now migrating to the One Alliance platform from September 1 this year. As India’s only international music and lifestyle channel, Vh1 is sure to augment One Alliance’s offering to its consumers.”
Kunal Dasgupta, CEO, SET India, and Chairman, SET Discovery, said that the deal provided a mutual benefit to both Vh1 and TheOne Alliance.
SET Discovery Pvt Ltd is a joint venture between SET India and Discovery Communications India. The company was set up in April 2002, and today, it distributes 15 leading channels under the brand name of TheOne Alliance to over 61 million homes across India.
