Ushe TV, the Sun Network's second entertainment channel in Kannada is on the move upwards. The latest ratings indicate that Ushe TV is all set to take on the number 2 spot.
The latest TAM (Rest of Karnataka) indicates that Ushe TV has a 15% weekly audience share in the C&S 4+ segment for the week 20/10/2002 to 26/10/2002. It is next to the market leader and Sun’s own UDAYA TV at 22% and much above the No. 3, ETV Kannada at 7%. For the week 13/10/2002 to 19/10/2002 the percentage share in the same segment stands at Ushe TV with 15%, Udaya TV with 26% and ETV Kannada with 5%.
Even in the city of Bangalore, which is a highly cosmopolitan city, Ushe TV has maintained a steady audience share of 5 to 6 %. The total market audience share for entire Karnataka for the past six weeks in the C& S segment indicates percentage shares between 12 to 16% for Ushe TV, 22 to 26% for UDAYA TV and 5 to 8 % for ETV Kannada.
According to Sun TV authorities, "Niche programming, fine collection of movies, live interactions with the viewers, high quality transmission etc are few factors that are forcibly pulling the Kannidagas towards Ushe TV".
They also add that for advertisers a fabulous rate package is in the offing against an audience share as high as 15%. Considering the huge deliveries (ratings), Ushe TV will produce against a very economical rate package that is bound to be a jackpot option to tilt the CPRP balance to the advertiser’s side.
For media planners, Ushe TV will serve as the right platform, if they are looking at frequency inserts, high visibility and huge returns against their spend.
