Turner to expand channel bouquet with truTV launch in early 2010

Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific has announced its plans to expand its entertainment portfolio in Asia with new entertainment channel, truTV. Scheduled for launch in early 2010, “truTV will be the only pay TV channel in Asia programmed to give viewers the opportunity to watch moments of real drama with real consequences”, Turner said in a release issued.

truTV will feature original programming that is unscripted and 100 per cent genuine, claimed the release. According to Iam Carroll, executive Vice-President, Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific, “truTV offers a unique brand of entertainment with real people living real lives. It’s television at its most personal and uncensored.

Targeted at a core audience of men and women in the 29-39 age group, truTV will feature a programming line-up popular in over 91 million households in the US, including its number one, high octane series, ‘Black Gold’.
