Travel with TLC every night on JUST TRAVEL@9PM

Etching out a robust strategy to grow the category TLC, the pioneer of travel programming in India has launched a dedicated travel band – JUST TRAVEL@9 PM - which will deliver the ultimate in travel experiences the world has to offer. JUST TRAVEL@9PM will feature exotic locales with global and Indian travel personalities and experts.

Strengthening TLC’s content line-up JUST TRAVEL@9PM will premiere exciting series such as Extreme Tourist and new seasons of globally acclaimed series of Samantha Brown, Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, Globe Trekker, Sea Nation and Fun Asia amongst many others every night from 9:00-10:00 p.m.

Rahul Johri, Senior Vice President and General Manager, South Asia, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, said, “TLC has showcased a gamut of travel forms in clutter breaking formats and slick packaging delivering a delightful entertainment experience. Over the years, TLC has garnered great responses from millions of its viewers and we are pleased to launch JUST TRAVEL@9PM, a dedicated travel band that will generate appointment viewing for the channel.”

Sure enough, a fair amount of research has gone into this move, as Rajiv Bakshi, VP, Marketing, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific (India), disclosed. “Research shows that the consumers expected more. Earlier we had such programmes at 8 pm, 10 pm, etc. They mentioned ‘Chew’, a food-cuisine programme that was on at 7pm. So we fixed this new programme – Just Travel at a dedicated time - 9pm, which is again prime time.” He added, “No one understands lifestyle and travel more than we do.”

Travel has many forms. Bakshi expanded on this, as he said, “ Travel is not understood very well in its different forms. There’s luxury, adventure, solitary, rough, vineyard or whisky trails, weekend getaways and so on. We present all these forms. No on understand it better than us.”
“Travel has been our long-standing strength. You’ll get stories from Combodia to Alaska to China….There’s travel plus cuisine, culture, fashion and you could go on,” he pointed out, and carried on, “As we go on, we will have Indian elements introduced…if you’d remember, we had ‘Indian Rendezvous’ along time back, which had been popular.” He concluded, “In short, you can enjoy the city as if you are there!”

So, make sure your bags are packed for some exciting journeys as TLC takes you on a ride across the world. You can join your favourite hosts as they scour the globe for the most exciting holiday destinations, off-beat vacation spots and thrilling getaways to make every episode a trip to remember. So whether it’s adventure sports, a romantic getaway or a fun-filled family vacation you’re looking for, you can travel every night at 9 pm.
