Times Television beefs up its team

More can be expected from Times Television now that it has its key people in place. Following the placement of Apurva Purohit as COO Entertainment channels, Aparna Pandey takes over the post of Vice President – Content.

Like Purohit, Pandey too is ex-Zee. Her stint with Zee Telefilms concluded in January 2004. Her designation there was Head, Programming and Marketing. With 10 years of television experience, Pandey has been exposed to both marketing and programming responsibilities.

“This is far more exciting,” expresses Pandey. “I have had a start-up experience with Channel 9. It is a lot more fun starting from scratch and building the whole thing up.”

Times Television is looking at building a bouquet and the team is starting with a Hindi niche channel. As per channel officials, the channel should float by July 2004. Though other team members are working on the project, the channel is still finalising on its personnel.

Pandey began her career with Sony as Brand Director. The next on her list was Channel 9, where she joined as Sr. Marketing Manager, taking care of creative development of programming and marketing activities. After a year’s break, in December 2002 she joined Zee Telefilms.

Speaking more about her new venture, she says, “It’s a great challenge and more importantly I will get the chance to work with Arun Arora and Apurva Purohit again, two people whom I hold in great respect. I look forward to this opportunity.”
