Times Network to launch real estate channel Property Now in September?

Times Network is set to launch a new channel called Property Now and the new channel will feature real estate business programming content and is expected to be launched by September 2015, said industry sources. Property Now will be the second business channel in the network after ET Now. However, we were unable to receive a confirmation from the network at the time of filing of this report.

There has been speculation for a while now on Times Network launching a real estate channel. In April this year we asked M.K. Anand, MD & CEO, Times Network about this and he had not denied his interest in launching a pure real estate business channel. “It is not just real estate honestly; we believe that ET Now has to expand to stay relevant and bigger in a very narrow market. We are not a business news channel which has other interests and other revenue models if I may say so. So Luxury, Auto, Real Estate, etc. the whole space that ET Panache is in is what I am interested in. I am tinkering with the possibility of can you look at those 3-4 channels. This would be using ET Now factory which has the resources already there. Beyond the markets, can this system generate 3 or 4 other children and this is a strategy or thought which can eventually as a cluster be more viable,” he had said in an earlier interview with exchange4media.

Apart from this there is also speculation of the network launching two other channels, one of which is expected to be in the Hindi GEC space. The Network recently rebranded the channel Zoom and re-launched Movies Now+ to MN+ with different programming from Movies Now.
