This March, superheroes take over HBO

This March, English movie channel HBO has a lot on its plate bringing superheroes into the Indian homes. In addition to the TV premieres in the ‘HBO Blockbuster of the Month’ block, the channel also has a property ‘Fantastic Five’ this month. Fantastic Five comprises a line up of films featuring superheroes. The channel will also celebrate Holi with ‘HBO Holi Hugs’.

‘Batman Begins’ will feature in the ‘HBO Blockbuster of the Month’ that will air on March 9 2007, in the 9 pm slot. ‘Fantastic Five’ on the other hand will have titles ‘Batman’, ‘Hellboy’, ‘Blade Trinity’, ‘The Adventures of the Shark Boy’, ‘Lava Girl’ culminating with ‘Scooby Doo II: Monsters Unleashed’.

An official communiqué quoted: “HBO Saturday Nights have properties like ‘Duma’, ‘Around the Bend’, ‘Descent’ ‘The New World’ and ‘Broken Flowers’. HBO Holi Hugs will be a colourful package of adventure, thrill, excitement and comedy, every Saturday after the 9.00 pm movie.”

HBO premiers movies on television through licensing deals with four major Hollywood studios – Paramount, Sony Pictures Entertainment (Columbia/ TriStar), Universal and Warner Bros.
