TAM data to resume from December 24

Christmas eve promises to be a busy one for television broadcasters. Data from TAM Media Research, which was scheduled to be released on December 19, 2012 but was deferred further on request of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting due to pressure from news channels, is set to be released on December 24, 2012.

News channels, however, have convinced all bodies concerned to further defer the delay of news channels data. This is now scheduled for January 9, 2013.

The News Broadcasters Association (NBA) has made a case that all news genre – including English, Hindi and regional – should be part of the deferred data set.

However, from January 9, 2013, data for all news channels would be available, including for the period since October for which data had been deferred.
