Taj Sports Channel to be launched in India in April

The Abdul Rehman Bukhatir-promoted Taj Sports is likely to enter the Indian market with a sports channel in April this year. The project will be headed by Chris McDonald, who will be based in Dubai. Mr McDonald was earlier with ESPN Star Sports.

According to industry sources, it would be a 24-hour sports channel. Taj Sports is also toying with the idea of offering blocks of programming content to other channels. It is yet to be decided whether the channel would be pay or free-to-air.
