Sun Network hikes ad rates of Gemini, Udaya and Surya channels

Two weeks after announcing tariff revision for its flagship channel Sun TV, Sun Network has increased the advertising rates of its Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam general entertainment channels. The new rates would come into effect from January 1, 2010.

The hike for Sun Network’s Telugu channel Gemini TV would be between 6 per cent and 16 per cent, while that of the Kannada channel Udaya TV was up to 10 per cent. Tariff for certain programmes of Malayalam channel Surya TV has been increased up to 5 per cent.

This apart, slot fees (broadcast fee) received from content producers have also been increased accordingly.
