Sun Direct to use Oracle Communications for its billing and revenue process

Sun Direct, the DTH venture from Sun Network, has implemented Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management to provide real time billing. According to an official communiqué, Sun Direct selected Oracle based on its convergent multi-service capabilities and proven real-time scalability, allowing it to consolidate billing operations, enable powerful new service offerings and improve visibility into customer information across services. Sun Direct worked with Siemens Information Systems Limited (SISL), a member of the Oracle Partner Network, to complete the implementation.

“In making the move from a content provider to a service provider, we needed to ensure that we had the necessary technology infrastructure in place to bill for services quickly and accurately. With Oracle, we have implemented a next-generation solution – accelerating our ability to rapidly deliver new services and deliver a superior customer experience. This is a milestone in redefining the economics of DTH service delivery in India,” said Tony DeSilva, COO, Sun Direct.

Oracle was chosen over competing offerings due to the applications’ rich functionality and proven delivery capabilities of SISL. With Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management, Sun Direct is able to accelerate service delivery and reduce time-to-market of new services and enhance operational efficiency, all with a predictable cost of ownership.
