Sudhir Chaudhary now also Editor-in-Chief of Zee Business

In what can be seen as a vindication of the unending faith that Zee Media’s ownership has in Sudhir Chaudhary, the presenter of ‘Daily News & Analysis’ has now been appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of Zee Business. The development has not only added another editorial product in Chaudhary’s kitty but has also turned him into one of the most powerful editors in the country today.

Chaudhary holds the unique accolade of being the Editor-in-Chief of not just an English and Hindi news channel i.e. WION and Zee News, but he simultaneously edits an English-language daily newspaper and now also a Hindi business news channel. Following the departure of Rohit Gandhi from ZMCL in early February, Chaudhary was provided with a chance to lead the editorial operations of both DNA and WION.

While Gandhi built WION from the ground-up by hiring talent and outlining the editorial positioning of the network, he also oversaw the launch of DNA in Delhi last year. Ever since Gandhi left, Chaudhary has reportedly concentrated on helping WION perform better in terms of television ratings while sticking to its global-Indian image. He has also roped in a few journalists to take the channel in the desired direction.

Perhaps, the only person to have enjoyed similar elevations at Zee Media in the past few months is Jagdish Chandra. After joining ZMCL as CEO – Regional News Channels in January, Chandra was placed a notch above as Executive Director - Regional News Channels and thereafter made DNA’s CEO.

Exchange4media tried getting in touch with Chaudhary for a comment but our calls went unanswered.
