STAR World woos young viewers with adventures of Superman

With ‘Spiderman’ and ‘Spiderman 2’ rocking the big screen, it is now the legendary comic character, Superman, to hit the tube on STAR World.

Aiming to establish a connect with its target group, the youth, STAR World masterminded ‘Smallville’ which is on air since August 12. The show offers a new interpretation of the Superman mythology and its unique character-blends of realism and adventure into an exciting action series.

‘Smallville’ is the tale of teenager Clark Kent in the days before he became 'Superman'. Says Ajay Vidyasagar, Senior Vice-president, Marketing and Communications, STAR India, “It is a new product which has earned acclaim in the US and the UK. ‘Smallville’ will cater to the English speaking audience in India.”

As Vidyasagar puts it, STAR World expects that the show will interest the potential audience coming within the 15-35-year age bracket.

With ‘Smallville’ in the bouquet, STAR World will complete its range of offerings for the complete family. The family drama range currently includes of ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’, (almost 10 years). The Indian Band has a strong appeal with the recent addition of ‘Britannia India’s Child Genius’ to the line-up, comprising ‘Rendezvous’, ‘Cover Story with Vir Sanguhvi’, ‘Top Drive’ and ‘Getaway’.
