Star Plus continues to lead urban markets; Zee Anmol acquires top spot in rural markets in week 34

According to BARC Ratings for week 34 (20-26 August, 2016), in the urban markets Star Plus continued to be the most watched channel followed by Colors at no.2 and Zee TV at no.3. Life OK stepped up to the fifth spot in week 34 pushing Sony Entertainment Television to the sixth spot and Star Utsav slipped to the ninth spot. As far as the rural markets are concerned, Zee Anmol acquired the top spot followed by Star Utsav at no.2 and Sony Pal at no.3. Star Plus stepped up to the fifth spot in week 34 replacing Rishtey.

Hindi GEC Urban:

Star Plus remained to be the most watched channel in the urban markets in week 34 with 495 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 451 million.

Colors stayed at no.2 with 375 million ratings also higher than previous week’s 357 million ratings.

Zee TV acquired the third spot with 327 million ratings. The channel had 311 million ratings in the previous week.

Sony SAB also held on to its spot of no.4 with improved ratings of 275 million than previous week’s 271 million.

Life OK stepped up to the fifth spot in week 34 pushing Sony Entertainment Television to the sixth spot. The former fetched 269 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 257 million whereas, the latter garnered 264 million ratings, similar to previous week.

&TV remained at no.7 with 157 million ratings, less than previous week’s 159 million.

The eighth spot was acquired by Zee Anmol with 123 million ratings. The channel was at no.9 previous week with 111 million ratings.

Star Utsav slipped to the ninth spot with 114 million ratings, less than week 33’s 131 million.

Sony Pal stayed at no.10 with 103 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 91 million.

Hindi GEC Rural:

Zee Anmol acquired the top spot in the rural markets with 407 million ratings replacing previous week’s top channel Star Utsav. The channel had 367 million ratings in week 33.

Star Utav slipped to no.2 with 395 million ratings, less than previous week’s 417 million.

The third spot was acquired by Sony Pal with 315 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 309 million.

Zee TV remained at no.4 with 249 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 231 million.

Star Plus stepped up to the fifth spot in week 34 with 236 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 216 million.

Rishtey slipped to the sixth spot with 216 million ratings, less than previous week’s 222 million.

Colors stayed at no.7 with 164 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 151 million.

Life OK, at no.8, fetched 157 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 147 million.

Sony SAB acquired the ninth spot in week 34 with 117 million ratings. The channel was at no.10 in week 33 with 103 million ratings.

Sony Entertainment Television slipped to the tenth spot with 105 million ratings, similar to previous week.
