STAR One and STAR Gold to beam across UK homes through BSkyB

STAR has announced the launch of its two channels – STAR One and STAR Gold – in the UK on the Sky digital TV platform. With this, STAR now has four channels, the other two being STAR Plus and STAR News, beaming across the network in UK.

The two new channels will be available on BSkyB’s Entertainment Pack and will be available to an estimated 8.2 million households in the UK and Ireland.

Sameer Nair, CEO, STAR Entertainment, said, “It’s a great pleasure to see the two channels expanding their reach beyond Asia and enriching television for Sky’s Asian customers.” He further said that South Asians in the UK would now be able to watch the same programmes that viewers in India enjoyed on a regular basis.

STAR One and STAR Gold offers its viewers an array of Hindi entertainment programmes and movies, respectively. Sky has been broadcasting STAR Plus and STAR News since January 2001.
