STAR India’s mobile entertainment PLUS ropes in new partners

STAR India’s mobile entertainment PLUS has roped in new partners. The strategic partnerships with personal financial portal Myiris.com, Zoom TV, UK’s The Sun, and the National Geographic Channel would enable consumers to access a myriad world of information ranging from entertainment to business news.

STAR Mobile Entertainment has tied up with Myiris.com for providing business and financial information and news to all PLUS subscribers. Under this tie-up, Myiris.com would provide content like top market news, company news, sector news and mutual fund news. Initially the service would be offered free to PLUS subscribers.

Also, this tie-up brings The Sun into the Indian market through the mobile content space. PLUS would be the exclusive gateway in India for lifestyle-related content from The Sun, targeted at the urban youth. Zoom TV would be the first third party channel to be added on PLUS under the genre of TV. Through this tie-up users can access Bollywood news, animations, wallpapers channel promo videos and Electronic Program Guide (EPG). National Geographic Channel would provide specialised and exclusive content like special animal ring tones.

Elaborating on these partnerships, Viren Popli, Senior Vice-President, STAR Mobile Entertainment, said, “Increasingly, mobile phones are becoming a source of network, communication infotainment. Today, mobile users demand a variety of services and facilities from their service providers. We at STAR Mobile Entertainment through our various alliances with companies in different industries intend to cater to all age groups.”

The PLUS portal is designed to be a gateway to mobile Internet. PLUS allows users to access content across the domains of television, sports, movies and music as well as services from the likes of banking, travel, Yellow Pages, news, and magazines such as Overdrive, T3, Chip, Better Interiors, AVMAX and others.
