Star Gold takes movie marketing a level higher with 'Kaal'

STAR Gold, the official media partner for the forthcoming movie 'Kaal', has quite a lot planned for the movie. Not only is the channel using all the traditional methods of creating awareness around the multi-starrer but it has also experimented a level higher by airing the television premier of the much spoken Shah Rukh Khan-Malaika Arora song from the movie.

The promotion would be shown on the show Maya, with the branding, 'Making of the Music of Kaal'. The half-hour special features interviews with the cast and crew of the film and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the film about the making of all three songs from the film.

The channel also has a 'The Kaal Dhamaal special', which would be aired on March 27, 2005. This curtain raiser on the film would have the cast talking for the first time about the film and its contents. The half-hour special hosted by Rakshanda Khan will have interviews with John Abraham, Vivek Oberoi, Esha Deol, Lara Dutta, director Soham and producer Karan Johar.

The episode showcases never-before-seen footage from the film's shoot with tigers in Bangkok with Randy Miller, who had also trained the tigers in the Hollywood blockbuster 'Gladiator'.

The episode has been shot in a giant forest log cabin specially re-created by the film's art director for this episode. The highlight of the episode will be the television premiere of the Shah Rukh-Malaika song 'Kaal Dhamaal' which will be shown in full for the first time ever on television along with the making of the song.

On April 10, 2005 the Kaal Gold Premier episode would air scenes and trailers from the film revealed to the audiences for the first time on the Saturday before release. Vivek Oberoi will anchor this episode.

The channel has also designed the Kaal Dhamaal Contest, where the channel has shot bytes with John and Vivek for the contest promos. The promos will play on air for around two weeks on STAR Gold.
