SS Music to launch Reliance Mobile Launch Pad in November

Cashing in on the success of reality shows on various satellite channels, Southern Spice Music, a Chennai based multi-lingual music channel airing music and entertainment for the youth with a programme-mix of international, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi music, is all set to launch ‘Reliance Mobile Launch Pad’, a talent hunt show to select the most melodious voice in Tamil Nadu. The reality show will hit the airwaves in November.

“The show would have a total of 15 episodes and 10-12 participants will be competing against one another to make it to the final in each episode. The channel would select 120 participants from the total entries across Tamil Nadu,” said G V Prakkash, Creative Head, Southern Spice Music.

“This is a perfect platform for aspiring singers to sing their way to glory,” he added.

Wannabe singers can record their voice as many times as they want by dialing 1234200 from their Reliance mobile or landline. They can also drop into the nearest Reliance Mobile Launch Pad kiosk set up in their cities to register their voice. The channel has set up four launch pad kiosks in Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruchy and Madurai.

Aspiring singers can also take part in the contest by recording their voice on a CD or cassette and sending it to Southern Spice Music, Chennai. The winner will get to take home gold worth Rs 3 lakh, while the two runners up would be given Rs 1.5 lakh worth of gold each.

Popular model and television artist Medha Raghunathan would host the show while the panel of jury comprises Gangai Amaran, music director-cum-lyricist, and actress Sandhya among others.
