Shiamak Davar and Kabir Arora to teach the right moves on Disney Channel’s ‘Nach to the Groove’

Following the immense popularity of programmes like ‘High School Musical’ and ‘Hannah Montana’, Disney Channel is coming up with a new dance-based programme ‘Nach to the Groove’ this summer for the tween audiences. The programme would have Shiamak Davar and Kabir Arora teaching viewers how to groove.

Young dance whiz-kid Arora along with eight other kids would demonstrate dance moves, while Davar would set the mood for the groove at the start of each segment, providing finer nuances of the art.

Antoine Villeneuve, Senior VP & MD, Walt Disney Television International – India, said, “Disney Channel reflects the lives of the tweens and their aspirations. ‘Nach to the Groove’ is based on Disney Channel’s creative idioms – ‘Follow your dreams’, ‘Believe in yourself’ and ‘Express yourself’. An interactive and entertaining concept, ‘Nach to the Groove’ will inspire Disney Channel audiences to discover their passion for dance and help them to learn a few moves from the experts.”

Commenting on the new show, Davar said, “After judging Disney Channel’s ‘My School Rocks’, I am thrilled to now move to the next step with ‘Nach to the Groove’. I love the format of the programme, it’s young, lighthearted and completely relatable to the tweens. I am extremely excited to work with the talented Kabir Arora. We will teach dance on television for viewers who enjoy dancing.”

Said Arora, “I am thrilled to work with my dance guru Shiamak sir. I have enjoyed myself on ‘Nach to the Groove’ and I am sure the viewers will too.”

Disney Channel has been using dance and music very effectively to create compelling content for its audiences. With programmes like ‘High School Musical’, ‘Cheetah Girls’ and ‘Hannah Montana’, the channel has created music and dance lovers jive along.
