SET to wind up ‘Kahin Na Kahin Koi Hain’ in October

Sony Entertainment Television (SET) India will wind up its Madhuri Dixit-hosted marriage show, Kahin Na Kahin Koi Hain (KNKKH), in the first week of October due to poor audience response.

According to sources, UTV received four weeks of notice from SET India to shelve further production of the show. The experiment of a reality marriage show on TV did not work.

UTV has already produced 44 episodes of KNKKH. A review was due after around 80 episodes but the channel had the right to exit at any time after a four week notice period. SET India’s experiment of repeating the prime time show on the afternoon band also did not give any high ratings to justify the existence of the programme, sources said.

UTV was to get into a fresh round of production for the reality show in the first week of September. But SET India decided not to go ahead with the much hyped show. The Madhuri Dixit programme started on Sony TV channel towards the end of July this year. Sony officials confirmed that the show would be pulled off air in October.

Sony TV will be getting rid of its repeat programmes on the 8 PM band with a host of new weekly shows, beginning September 19.
