SET to acquire rights of ‘Om Namah Shivay’

Sony Entertainment Television is acquiring the rights to Creative Eye’s flagship mythological programme ‘Om Namah Shivay’ at an undisclosed price. The deal will also include a new mythological. A formal announcement is expected soon. Om Namah Shivay, which was earlier aired on the Doordarshan national network, will be re-run on the satellite channel in the third quarter of this fiscal.

For overseas markets, Creative Eye is also in the process of condensing the content of Om Namah Shivay from 208 hours to 32 hours.

According to sources, Creative Eye will retain the rights of the mythological show, which has travelled to 11 countries. Sony will have rights for a single telecast with a repeat. Creative Eye has sold the music rights to Times Music on a royalty basis.
