Senior level exits at India News channel

There have been some senior level exits at India News, the Hindi news channel from ITV Group. Anuranjan Jha, Output Head and Deputy Director News, Rakesh Yogi, Output Chief Head, and Crime Head Mukand Shahi are moving out of the channel.

Without going into the details regarding the exits of these three people, a senior India News official on conditions of anonymity said, “It was a decision that had to be taken.”

India News is owned by Kartikeya Sharma, son of former Union Minister Venod Sharma. The associates of the channel are from diverse verticals, well-established and recognised names in their respective fields.

Harish Gupta is the CEO and Editor-in-Chief of India News, which has 11 studios at strategic locations across the country and several mobile studios to bring live coverage. Mumbai is the second big hub for the channel, with facilities equivalent to Delhi.

It may be recalled that Good Morning India and Information TV (ITV) are the two media companies set up by Sharma. He has also launched a Hindi newspaper ‘Aaj Samaj’ and a Hindi magazine, also called ‘India News’.

India News went on air in 2008. The group also plans to start an English news channel, a Bhojpuri channel, a music channel and an FM radio station.
