Senior Journalist Dr. Anil Singh appointed as Visiting Professor at Delhi University

Senior journalist Dr. Anil Singh, who has served stints at ABP News (Star News) and Aaj Tak as Executive Editor, has been appointed as the Visiting Professor at the Cluster Innovation Centre at Delhi University (DU).  Singh is known for his path breaking concepts such as ‘Kaun BanegaMukhyamantri’ (KBM) “Raj Tilak”, “Panchayat”, “Maha Panchayat” and “Agenda Aaj Tak” which propelled erstwhile Star News (ABP News) and Aaj Tak to the top position in the TRP chart.

 He is also the Executive Editor of News24 and is spearheading a strategy to revamp its editorial strength. Beginning his career in electronic news media way back in 1999 with Zee News, Dr. Singh moved to Aaj Tak as its Assignment Producer in the year 2001.  In 2004, he moved to STAR News, then a joint venture between STAR and ABP, as its Executive Editor, where he continued till 2013.  At that time Uday Shankar was both the Editor-in-Chief and CEO of STAR News. In 2012, after the exit of STAR from the JV and sold its 26 per cent shareholding to the majority shareholder, ABP Group, the channel was rebranded as ABP News.  In 2013, he re-joined Aaj Tak as Executive Editor.

Dr.  Singh has authored several books on India’s socio-political and defence-related issues such as “India’s Security Concerns in the Indian Ocean Region”; “Insurgency in India: Internal Dimensions and External Linkages”; “Military and Media“; “Bihar: Chaos to Chaos; “The Prime Minister: Discourses in Indian Polity”.   He also writes political columns in various publications such as Sanmarg and Orissa
