Second season of ‘Koffee with Karan’ opens on a positive note for STAR One

The second season of ‘Koffee with Karan’ has opened on a positive note for STAR One. The show in its first season was on STAR World. In the sequel, it has given STAR some good numbers in the TAM Elite Panel as well. Capturing over 5.5 million viewers, the show rates 4+ in the TAM Elite Panel. In the C&S 4+, SEC A for the metro markets, the show has delivered a 1.6 TRP.

The launch episode featured guests Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee. Karan Johar, Director and show host of ‘Koffee with Karan’, said, “One challenge that we face with this show is that even though at heart it is an English talk show, it is a film talk show and it is the same people that will come as guests. So, we had to see what kinds of combination could be played to bring some newness to the show.”

Johar is clear that there was no need to really change the format of the show in the new season as the first season was only 25 episodes old. He believes that going forward the show would only grow more in numbers.

Ajay Vidyasagar, EVP Marketing, STAR India, said, “‘Koffee with Karan’ has been one of the most popular talk shows that has just the right mix of fun and excitement coupled with Karan’s own unique style. We are delighted that the launch episode of on STAR One and STAR World has been a smashing hit with the opening episode TRPs having doubled over the last season.”
