Sambhaav to invest $10 mn in Wise TV

Sambhaav Media Group is bullish about developing Digital Live Transit TV Broadcasting infrastructure in the country and will be pumping in $10 million for the same.

The channel, Wise TV (which stands for Wireless Interactive Smart Entertainment) delivers live video and voice across the transit industry such as bus networks, metros, railways, internet and mobile phones.

Commenting on the service, Kiran Vadodaria, Chairperson, Wise TV explained that Wise TV is a patented technology, which can send AV transmission or signal distribution, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint to moving receivers. The picture and audio quality is said to be as good as that of DTH transmission.

The programming mix consists of news, stock, sports, Bollywood, songs, sitcoms, and lifestyle and travel, which have been developed in-house. The channel operates for 17 hours a day between 6:00 AM and 11 PM.

Sambhaav Media had earlier bagged a 10-year contract from the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC), under which it has started carrying live television feed in 8,000 buses run by the Corporation from April 1, 2012.

Wise TV is being promoted with the tagline – ‘TV bana humsafar’.

On expansion plans, Vadodaria said, “We are completely open to scale up the operations and work for any state or even any other country.” But immediate on the agenda is to commence operations in metros such as Delhi and Mumbai.
