Sadhna News geared to launch three regional news channels

In a bid to emerge as a key player in the regional news domain, Sadhna News, part of Sadhna Media, is planning to launch three regional news channels this year. Company officials informed exchange4media that this includes UP-Uttrakhand, Punjab, Haryana & Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.

At present, Sadhna News runs two 24-hour free-to-air news channels — Sadhna News Bihar-Jharkhand and Sadhna News MP-Chattisgarh.

Speaking more on these expansion plans, Prabhat Dabral, Executive Director, Sadhna Media told exchange4media that UP-Uttrakhand will be the first news channel to go on air, and it is planned to launch in the next quarter. He added, “We will launch at least two news channels ahead of the festive season. We want to emerge as a big regional news player in the Hindi market. By the end of this year, Sadhna News will have five regional news channels in its bouquet.”

Sadhna News, according to Dabral has already started revamping its news network. “Each of the channels will have two OB Vans and 4-5 V-Sat connected bureaus. We are also recruiting correspondents at the district level. We will also extend our bureau operations in Delhi including addition of one more OB Van,” he added.

The expansion plans also include a national news channel. Dabral divulged, “Once we establish ourselves as a strong regional news player in the Hindi belt, we’ll launch a national Hindi news channel next year too.”
