Sadhna Media to launch India’s first agro-rural based channel ‘Hariyali TV’

Sadhna Media Pvt. Ltd would be launching the country’s first agro-rural based private television channel ‘Hariyali TV’ on October 18. The 24-hour channel would target to reach the Hindi-speaking belt mostly in the rural areas. The channel would be formally launched by Union Minister of Rural Development Dr Raghuvansh Prasad Sinha at a special ceremony, which would also see the presence of Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Meera Kumar, Former Union Minister Murli Manohar Joshi, and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, among others.

According to Rakesh Gupta, Managing Director, Hariyali TV, “The channel will primarily showcase programmes related to agricultural and rural development. Currently, around 300 channels are available in the country that are based on entertainment, music, sports, etc. However, not even a single channel is focussing on agriculture and rural development. Hariyali TV would be the first channel to focus on this aspect. The idea of launching the channel emerged after having seen the very grim, gloomy and poor condition of our villages and their farmers.”

The main attraction of the channel would be programmes related to agriculture and rural development like rates in commodities market, news about successful farmers, modern agricultural technologies, new innovations, soil and fertilizers, health and adult education, etc. To make programmes more attractive, the channel has planned interactive phone-in programmes whereby farmers can interact with agriculture experts. The channel also claims to have state-of-the-art studio and multi-camera facilities.
