SAB is carrying forward the laugh riot on television with its new show ‘Comedy Ka King Kaun’, The show will feature 12 of the best comedians vying with each other for the title of Comedy King. ‘Comedy Ka King Kaun’ is premiering on April 14, and will be aired Monday to Thursday at 8.30 pm.
The show will feature comedians like Rauf Lala, Parag Kansara, Raja Rancho, Salim Afridi, Khayali, Kasif Khan, Gaurav Sharma, Faisal Masood, Ayaz Sanoo, Bhagwant Maan, Aamir Rambo and Deepak Raja. Every Thursday one of these 12 contestants would be eliminated until the last stand-up standing would be crowned Comedy King.
Anooj Kapoor, Business Head, SAB, said, “This show is one more in a long line of our innovative programmes. As a youth channel, SAB has had a strong association with comedy as a brand since its inception. Some of the new shows that we have launched in the last three months have proved that running linear comedy is good and healthy for the channel.”
He further said, “The channel will continue to attract the TG, and today the youth prefer comedy as one of the ingredients in entertainment. So, we feel along with our TG, let the entire family enjoy the shows on SAB.”
Jaspal Bhatti makes a comeback on television as a judge on the show. Joining him would be actress Divya Dutta as the second celebrity judge.

The format is unique in that it challenges these guys in various situations such as stand-up comedy, repartee and acting. It is loads of fun mixed with the energy of extreme competition.”
Hosted by Sampada Vaze, ‘Comedy Ka King Kaun’ consists of three segments – ‘Stand-up comedy round’, ‘Jugal Bandi round’ and ‘Gag round’. The ‘Stand-up comedy round’ will have each participant perform alone. In the ‘Jugal Bandi round’ the judges will select two random participants, who get together to perform on a topic given by the judges, and the ‘Gag round’ will have separate teams, where each team will put up one gag with the help of a pool of actors.
