Recreate Solutions sets up set top box offshore testing farm in Mumbai

Recreate Solutions, an UK-based software and technology services company working in the field of interactive television, has set up an offshore set top box testing farm in Mumbai.

The set top box farm will cover 44 models and will be used to provide offshore test facilities for applications to be launched for its clients like Sky/Open TV.

The company claimed that the new facility would enable a reduction in cost of testing for an application on Sky, which would further benefit product companies and games publishers.

“Testing typically accounts for around 25 per cent of the overall application effort, and hence, this represents a significant reduction on overall cost of application development as well as speed to market,” the company said in a statement.

“This is in line with our effort to provide quality offshore services enabling lowering the cost of launch of interactive solutions,” Bhaskar Majumdar, CEO, Recreate Solutions said.

The company also intends to increase the coverage of platforms to include other carriers and is in talks with a few leading US operators to replicate their test set-up in India.
