Q W Naqvi back with TV Today

Q W Naqvi is no stranger to Aaj Tak. Even as he joins the channel as News Director, his association with the organization dates back to when Aaj Tak was a 30-minute capsule broadcast on DD Metro. “My association with Aaj Tak is an old one. The very name ‘Aaj Tak’ came from me. And I feel great coming back to the place where I belonged,” Naqvi said while confirming with exchange4media.com the news of his new assignment.

Naqvi took on his new responsibilities on February 6, 2004. He would look after the entire editorial content of the channel. With the general elections round the corner his immediate task would be to “strategize the future planning and execute the same in a manner that Aaj Tak maintains its number one position.”

On why he left Aaj Tak even as it had become a 24-hr news channel and what prompted him to come back, he said, “Well, it’s all about time. There are different challenges at different times.”

In the interregnum, Naqvi worked with ‘Falak channel’ and then as a media consultant.

He has replaced Uday Shankar (ex-News Director) who left Aaj Tak on January 31, 2004.
