PromaxBDA Asia 2008: Multiscreen Media, Bindass Movies shine with 3 Golds

Multiscreen Media and Bindass Movies from India made their mark at the PromaxBDA Asia 2008 awards ceremony in Singapore. The other winners that also shone included MTV Networks, Vh1, Star India, Zee Entertainment, and INX Media, among others.

Multiscreen Media Pvt Ltd bagged six metals – three Golds and three Silvers in the categories of Best Movie Promo (The World of Max), Best Entertainment/ Variety campaign (AmberDhara), Best Comedy Campaign (Comedy Ka King Kaun), Promo, Best Holiday/ Seasonal Promo, and Best Sound Design (Frozen).

The ‘Talking Posters’ promo, an image spot for Bindass Movies, won the Gold in three categories – Best Comedy Promo, Funniest Spot and ‘Something for Nothing’. The awards recognise the ingenuity and skill of the Bindass Movies’ in-house creative services team comprising Dipankar Bose, Creative Head; Prashant Madan, Supervising Producer, his team; and Snigdha Rao, Graphic Designer and Promo Producer.

MTV Networks bagged one Gold and two Silvers for the categories of Best Brand Integration Promo, Funniest Spot and Best Leisure & Lifestyle Promo. Vh1 took home one Gold for ‘Rock Rules’ in the category for Best Editing and a Silver for ‘Sunday Brunch’ in the Best Promo not using Programme Footage category.

Zee Entertainment’s ‘Get Shorty’ promotional campaign for its short film contest on Zee Studio struck Gold in the Best Special Event Promo category. It may be recalled that in August this year, Zee Studio had launched the ‘Get Shorty’ contest inviting budding film-makers across the country to submit short films of five-minute duration.

The contest is in its final stages now with 12 of the best films being showcased every Friday at 10 pm, starting November 21. Zee Studio will showcase three short films in each of the four half-hour episodes interspersed with their reviews and discussions by film personalities such as Luke Kenny, Anurag Kashyap and Samir

Karnik. Zee Studio will decide on the winner on the basis of popular voting and the winning film will be sent to the prestigious Berlin and Cannes film festivals.

The channel also bagged a Silver for its show ‘Rock N Roll Family’ in the Best Reality Campaign category.

INX Media was awarded two Silvers in the category of Best Interactive Promo for ‘9X Dekho Car Jeeto’ and Best News/ Current Affairs Promo category. Turner Entertainment also bagged two Silvers in the category of Best Children’s Programme Promo and Best Children’s Programme Campaign for ‘Galli Galli Sim Sim 2’. NGC Network India was awarded a Silver for its programme on Pink floyd in the category for Best Entertainment/ Variety Promo.
