Tamil GEC Sun TV’s ‘Super Challenge’ on April 9 (Sunday) between 1.04 pm - 2.12 pm, and the premiere of action film ‘Bairavaa’ on April 14 (Friday) between 6.05 pm and 6.58 pm and 7.23 pm and 10.12 pm, each improved the channel’s viewership by 45 per cent. ‘Super Challenge’ garnered 6.7 million impressions compared to its previous four week average of 4.7 million impressions while the movie premiere fetched in 14.5 million impressions as against its four week average of 10 million impressions.
The premiere of Tamil psychological thriller ‘Saithan’ on April 14 (Friday) between 4.04 pm and 7pm on Zee Tamil brought in 1.1 million impressions as against its previous four week average of 0.6 million impressions. It improved the viewership by 83 per cent.
The premiere of Tamil supernatural movie ‘Kaashmora’ on April 14 (Friday) on Jaya TV between 11am and 12.59pm and between 1.35pm and 2.59pm improved the channel’s viewership by 9.8 times to 2 million impressions compared to 0.2 million impressions.
The premiere of three Malayalam movies ‘Oppam’, ‘Swarna Kaduva’ and ‘Pulimurugan’ improved Malayalam channel Asianet’s viewership considerably. ‘Oppam’ on April 9 brought in 3.9 million impressions; ‘Swarna Kaduva’ on April 14 (Friday) fetched in 1.2 million impressions; ‘Pulimurugan’ on April 14 (Friday) garnered 8.7 million impressions.
Sony ESPN (SD and HD) witnessed an increase in viewership in the time band between 7.30am and 10.20am for its show ‘UFC 210: Cormier vs Johnson 2.’ It went up by four times on April 9 (Sunday) to 0.1 million impressions.
Meanwhile the T20 match between Members of Parliament and celebrities between 4.32pm and 8.40pm on April 8 (Saturday) boosted DD National’s ratings by 40 per cent. It fetched 0.5 million impressions compared to the previous week average of 0.3 million impressions.
Hindi news channel Aaj Tak strengthened its rating with the telecast of its interview with Pakistani politician Pervez Musharraf by 31 per cent. The show aired on April 13 (Thursday) from 10.29 and 10.59 brought in 0.9 million impressions as against its previous four week average of 0.7 million impressions.
