Pragya Channel to go on air on November 24

Pragya Channel, a venture of Pragya Vision Pvt. Ltd, will be launched on November 24. The channel has plans to focus on its unique content to gain foothold in the mushrooming satellite channel space.

“We were waiting for this day for a long time and are happy to announce that we would launch the channel on November 24,” said Meena Tiwary, Managing Director, Pragya Vision Pvt. Ltd.

The channel claims to be very different as far as content is concerned. “We are not a religious channel, but are more about bettering life and living. If spirituality and entertainment are considered to be components of lifestyle, then we are into it. The content has tremendous ability to inspire,” explained Pragyan Bhattacharya, Programming Head, Pragya Channel.

The channel has also roped in management guru Shiv Khera for a weekly talk show, ‘The Shiv Khera Show’. ‘Beyond Brackets’ would be hosted by an eminent film personality to discuss topics of relevance to the channel’s philosophy of ‘Life Positive’. Two fiction-based programmes each of one-hour duration are also part of the programming, of which one would be a long series, while the other would comprise short stories. These shows would be aired in the 9 pm-11 pm time slot.

Programmes on individuals who have done well in life despite facing tough situations as well as those who are working for the benefit of the community would find centrestage. The channel would also highlight health-related issues.

“Though our focus is youth and women, viewers of all age groups would find programmes of their interest. All our shows, like the reality show ‘Be Positive’, would reflect the positive aspects of life,” added Bhattacharya.

The channel would have five hours of live programmes daily. In addition to fiction, animation and talent search programmes will also feature on the channel.
