No communication from ministry; channels will continue to be on air: Sun TV

According to media reports the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has denied security clearance to 33 TV channels of the Sun TV Network. This decision could mean the cancellation of the broadcasting license of the network along with all the network's channels being taken off air. The MHA has passed on the information to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) on Friday.

In a latest development, in a statement to Bombay Stock Exchange, Sun TV explained with reference to media reports which stated channels may go off air, "We wish to state that no communication has been received by the Company in this regard from any Ministry and all our channels continue to be on air".

The statement came after BSE sought clarification from Sun TV Network Ltd with reference to the news which had already caused the network's stock value to drop by 21.85% as on June 8, 2015.
