Nimbus adds ARY Digital, GEO TV, StarHub as international licensees for Indian cricket

Nimbus Sport, the international sports licensing arm of Nimbus Communications Ltd, the global media rights partner of the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) for the period March 2006 to March 2010, has entered into three more television licensing agreements in addition to those already announced. The three new members are ARY Digital, GEO TV and StarHub.

ARY Digital shall have television rights for all 10 international series for TV broadcast for the territory of Europe, subscription TV rights on a non-exclusive basis for eight of the 10 series (excluding the two series featuring England) in the UK, to be broadcast in a South Asian language.

GEO TV will have television rights for the territories of Pakistan and Bangladesh, while StarHub will have pay TV rights for the territory of Singapore.

Commenting on the three new deals, Digvijay Singh, CEO, Nimbus Sport, said, “The global appeal of Indian cricket is further demonstrated by the growing family of international licensees. In the days to come, we shall announce more such licensing deals in a manner that eventually every continent on Earth shall have the ability to view the TV broadcast of international cricket in India.”
