NewsX to be available on Tata Sky from April 14

NewsX, the English news channel from INX News Pvt Ltd, which was soft-launched on March 27, 2008, will soon be available on DTH too. Starting April 14, NewsX would be available on Tata Sky.

Indrani Mukerjea, Chairperson, INX News, said, “NewsX aims to redefine TV news in India with the best news team working to deliver the highest quality of content and style in keeping with the channel’s promise of clarity in a complex world. We are confident that the discerning viewers of Tata Sky will respond well to NewsX.”

Vikram Kaushik, MD & CEO, Tata Sky Ltd, said, “Tata Sky has always been at the forefront in providing world class news and entertainment and other programming to its subscribers. We are delighted to add NewsX to our platform. This will further enhance Tata Sky’s strong bouquet for its huge community of satisfied TV viewers across the country.”

With a strong emphasis on the best of technology, NewsX, claimed to be India’s first HDTV-ready news channel, is the first news channel in the Asia Pacific region to use high definition cameras on the road, offering better looking footage with sharper image quality. MPEG-4 (instead of the conventional MPEG-2) encoding gets the picture directly to the viewer at the highest speed in the shortest time.
