New roles for Puneet Gupt & Rajesh Kalra at Times Internet

In order to target the internet consumers, Times Internet has decided to tap the digital readers of non-English speaking customers.

Puneet Gupt will take over the responsibility for TOI+ Languages, News Business (NBT, MT, VK, ES, NGS). The confirmation mail says, “Puneet has done a strong job leading the TOI business along with Go Cricket and Happy Trips over the last few years and we want to extend the investments and capabilities into technology, product and UIUX improvements that have been made into TOI into the language spaces as well. The product and the tech leads and the functional SPOCs, of the language business will report to Puneet.”

While Rajesh Kalra Senior Editor at Times Internet Digital has now been elevated to the post of Editorial Head, TOI Digital. The confirmation mail said, “Rajesh Kalra will become the Editorial Head for TOI Digital – Language News. Rajesh has vast experience in digital editorial and has done a great job in convergence with the print team in languages. All editorial leads in TOI & languages will report to Rajesh going forward.”

Both Puneet Gupt and Rajesh Kalra will report to Gautam Sinha, COO.

The mail from Satyan Gajwani, CEO, Times Internet also spoke about the current editorial head of Times Digital Vinay Pandey. The mails says, “Vinay Pandey has been leading the digital editorial operations of The Times of India Digital for the last few years and has played a key role in its growth and also helped bring synergies between digital and print. Vinay is taking up a new role with the print team of Times of India. I’m confident he will help further the need for convergence between print and online in his capacity there.”
