Neo Sports Broadcast inks multiple distribution deals

Neo Sports Broadcast has signed an agreement with cable network, InCable, to carry Neo Sports and Neo Sports Plus. Neo Sports has the telecast rights of all international cricket played in India till 2010, while Neo Sports Plus, a 24-hour sports entertainment television channel, airs content from all the other sporting disciplines.

Shashi Kalathil, CEO, Neo Sports Broadcast Pvt Ltd, said, “We are delighted to partner with India’s largest MSO, thus significantly increasing our reach across the country.”

This deal comes close on the heels of the recently made announcement of Neo Sports and Neo Sports Plus being lit across 45 per cent households in Southern India – across Bangalore city, Karnataka and Kerala, over one million customers on TataSky, and also in the ‘cow belt’ states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana.

Neo Sports also announced a long-term agreement with StarHub, a pay-TV provider in Singapore. The agreement would ensure live telecast and availability of Neo Sports in Singapore, starting September 26, 2007. With this deal, Neo Sports has spread its footprints across Asia, as this announcement comes close on the heels of its recently announced deals with the Middle-East and several South East Asian countries like Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.

Announcing this deal, Prasana Krishnan, VP, Business Development, said, “We aim to reach the large Indian diaspora and the huge expatriate base in Singapore, all of whom are passionate followers of cricket. Partnering with StarHub gives us a huge advantage as they have comprehensive and unparalleled reach across all market segments in Singapore.”
