NDTV increases global footprint with launch in Australia & New Zealand

English news channel NDTV 24x7 has become available to viewers in Australia and New Zealand from January 20, 2007, through a distribution partnership with Vision Asia, the largest ethnic distribution platform in the region. The channel will be available as part of the Vision Asia basic platform along with leading entertainment channels from India.

Commenting on this development, Rahul Sood, VP–Network Distribution & Affiliate Sales, said, “NDTV is very pleased to be partnering with Vision Asia to make India’s best news channel available to the ever increasing diaspora in the region. We are confident that 24x7 will be an important source of information for viewers in Australia and New Zealand, filling a gap in these markets for a high quality, English language news channel from India.”

Welcoming NDTV 24x7 to the Vision Asia fold, Gurudutt Satigrama said, “Vision Asia is proud to have India’s best news channel on its premium bouquet. We believe NDTV 24x7 will provide our customers the much-needed news from back home as well as around the world. With its high quality presentation NDTV has set a benchmark for news channels and will further strengthen Vision Asia’s position as the leading South Asian Pay TV service provider in the ANZ region.”

With these tie-ups, NDTV’s global presence now extends to all the key regions across the world – UK, USA, Canada, the Middle East, South Africa and all the neighbouring South Asian countries.
