My favourite TV character: Ram Amarnath Kapoor

There are many TV shows in the Hindi GEC space that have managed to leave an impression on the audiences, with certain characters contributing to the overall success of the shows and moving on to become household names. Though different aspect of programming such as content, marketing, etc. plays an equally crucial role, sometimes it is a character which becomes the face of a show. 

Dhruv Jha, GM, Content and Experiences, Lodestar UM shared that Ram Amarnath Kapoor from ‘Bade achhe lagte hain’ is his favourite because of his effortless portrayal of the character in the daily show.

Ram Kapoor, the main male protagonist of the fiction show, is a very famous business tycoon. The show explores the worlds of two different personalities – Priya Sharma and Ram Kapoor who discover love after they marry.

Who is your favourite character in the Hindi general entertainment space?
My favourite character on television is Ram Kapoor from the show ‘Bade achhe lagte hain’ on Sony Entertainment Television.

What do you like about him?
According to me he is very real to his character in the storyline and plays it effortlessly. He brings the show alive.

Do you think the popularity of a character extends itself to the show or a show shapes up the characters?
Well, it works both ways; a character can make or break a show. It also depends on how well the role is enacted by the actor.

How often did you tune in to the show ‘Bade achhe lagte hain’?
Though I don’t watch a lot of television, I tune into this show atleast once a week.
